Advanced Managerial Leadership

Announcing the NEW Certificate in Advanced Managerial Leadership (AML) at the McCoy College of Business Administration in February 2019!


PROGRAM OVERVIEW

The 6-module, 36-hour AML certification program is designed for directors and senior managers who are working toward executive level and leadership positions in their organizations. The inaugural 2019 program will focus on local government entities and utilities in the I-35 corridor. Future AML programs may focus on different audiences.

Research suggests that thousands of senior executives will be retiring over the next 5-10 years. The overarching goal of the new AML certificate program is to help ensure a steady and capable pipeline of future leaders equipped with the necessary strategic, collaborative, and innovative mindset to become effective and inspirational stewards of their organizations.

COST OF INAUGURAL 2019 PROGRAM
The cost of the 6-module, 36-hour Certificate in Advanced Managerial Leadership is $5,000 per participant.

MODULES AND TENTATIVE SCHEDULE
Each module will be taught bi-monthly.
Modules will be offered from 9:00 am - 12:00 (noon) and 1:00 - 4:00 pm on Friday (date to be determined).  Lunch will be provided.
 

Module 1 - Strategic Planning and Critical Thinking

Module 2 - Data Analytics and Innovative Decision Making

Module 3 - Financial Planning and Analysis

Module 4 - Strategic Communication and Social Media

Module 5 - Talent Management

Module 6 - Labor and HR Law

NOTE: To earn the AML certification, participants must score 80% or higher on a 60-question, cumulative, multiple-choice assessment on the last day of the program.


WHERE

Classes will be taught at the McCoy College of Business by faculty and subject matter experts who are excellent educators, researchers, or practitioners. These engaging presenters are skilled at blending research and data with practical applications and best practices to inspire today's directors and senior managers

 

COMMITMENT

The certification program will consist of six one-day modules that will be offered every two months. Classes will meet for two 3-hour sessions on a Friday (with a one-hour lunch at the McCoy College)

The 2019 AML program will be capped at 15 directors or senior managers. To help launch the new program, New Braunfels Utilities has agreed to enroll 5 directors and senior managers.
